Their stories are about life and death, age and childhood, love and violence, seduction and rejection, dreams and reality. In the style of "New Circus" Zirkom combines elements from theatre, dance, singing and clownery with traditional circus techniques.</p> <p>According to Martin van Bracht, who founded Zirkom in 2002, "it is basically a piece about human beings and their feelings, about their pursuit of higher things." The show does not have a plot. It rather consists of poetic pictures and short narratives. It invites the audience to dream and to experience difficult tricks in a very light-hearted way, with fun and humour. A "physical theatre" with eight artists somewhere between heaven and earth.</p> <p>In the early 90s Martin van Bracht caused furore when taking part of in reinvention of circus: In 1989 he and his female partner Sabine Rieck founded the group Gosh. Gosh stands for a new direction of circus, that focused on the human side of circus and adds contemporary elements to the genre. Gosh was the peak of this movement which started as "Cirque Nouveau" in France. Well-known productions such as "Archaos", "CirqueO" and "QueCirque" also belong to this movement. Likewise Gosh, Zirkom feels constrained to this tradition but wants to set its own courses.</p> <p>Evelyne Fagnen, the director of the German-French production "Himmel Heaven Ciel", was stimulated by the childlike images of the painter Marc Chagall. For many years the French director worked as an actress at the legendary Théâtre du Soleil directed by Ariane Mnouchkine.</p> <p>The show is accompanied by a soundtrack of modern tango rhythms, rocking string instruments and electronic sounds: The Berlin film composer Florian Appl, who was also a member of Gosh for many years, and Christian Branchereau-Sade composed the music exclusevely for the show. The costumes were designed by Odile Hautemulle, who got caught attention through her work in different international opera, dance and new circus productions such as "La Tribu Iota" produced by the National Centre of Circus Arts, Châlons-en-Champagne in France. V.</p> <p>Acht Männer (Akrobaten, Seiltänzer, Jongleure, Sänger und Tänzer) erzählen bildersatte Geschichten aus dem Alltag, die irgendwo anfangen und nirgendwo aufhören. Es geht um Leben und Tod, Alter und Kindheit, Liebe und Gewalt, Verführung und Abweisung, Traum und Wirklichkeit. Im Stil des Cirque Nouveau vereint Zirkom Elemente aus Theater, Tanz, Gesang und Clownerie mit zirzensischen Techniken ohne sich auf ein Genre festzulegen.</p> <p>"Es ist eigentlich ein Stück über den Menschen und seine Befindlichkeiten, über sein Streben nach Höherem", sagt Martin van Bracht, der Zirkom 2002 gründete. So wird keine durchgängige Geschichte erzählt, vielmehr reihen sich poetische Bilder und kleine Erzählungen aneinander. Es ist eine Show, die zum Träumen einlädt, wo das Schwierige ganz unbeschwert daherkommt und jede Menge Witz und Humor das Programm bestimmen. Ein "Physical Theatre" mit acht Artisten zwischen Himmel und Erde.</p> <p>In den frühen neunziger Jahre sorgte Martin van Bracht international für Furore, indem er den Zirkus neu miterfand: Mit seiner damaligen Partnerin Sabine Rieck gründete er 1989 Gosh, ein neues Zirkusformat, das den Menschen in den Mittelpunkt des Geschehens stellte und das Genre um zeitgemäße Erfahrungen bereicherte. Gosh gehörte zur Spitze der Bewegung, die unter dem Begriff "Cirque Nouveau" in Frankreich ihren Ausgang nahm und zu der renommierte Produktionen wie "Archaos", "Cirque O"; und "QueCirque"; gehören. Zirkom fühlt sich wie Gosh dieser Tradition verpflichtet, will allerdings eigene Akzente setzen.</p> <p>Regisseurin Evelyne Fagnen hat sich bei der deutsch-französischen Produktion "Himmel Heaven Ciel" von den kindlich verspielten Bilderwelten des Malers Marc Chagall anregen lassen. Die Französin war viele Jahre als Schauspielerin am legendären Théâtre du Soleil unter der Leitung von Ariane Mnouchkine tätig.</p> <p>Begleitet wird die Show von einem Soundtrack aus modernen Tango-rhythmen, rockigen Streichinstrumenten und elektronischen Klangteppichen: Der Berliner Filmkomponist Florian Appl, der selbst Gosh-Mitglied war, und Christian Branchereau-Sade haben die Musik eigens für das Stück geschrieben. Die Kostüme wurden von der französischen Designerin Odile Hautemulle entworfen, die bereits durch verschiedene inter-nationale Opern-, Tanz- und Cirque Nouveau-Produktionen wie « La Tribu Iota » des Centre National des Arts du Cirque, Châlons-en-Champagne bekannt wurde. V.</p> <p>Huit hommes (acrobates, funambules, jongleurs, chanteurs et danseurs) racontent des histoires saturées d'images, qui commencent quelque part et ne finissent nulle part. Dans le style du Cirque Nouveau c'est Zirkom qui réunit des éléments du théâtre, de la danse, des chants et de la clownerie avec des techniques provenant du cirque sans être trop fixés sur un genre.</p> <p>« En effet, il s'agit d'une pièce sur l'homme et ses sentiments, sur ses aspirations vers un niveau plus élevé », dit Martin van Bracht qui fondait Zirkom 2002. On ne raconte pas d'histoire continue, il y a plutôt une série d'images poétiques et des petits récits. C'est un show qui invite à rêver, où le difficile se facilite et le programme est caractérisé par beaucoup d'humour. Un « Physical Theatre » avec huit acrobates entre le ciel et la terre.</p> <p>Au début des années quatre-vingt-dix Martin van Bracht a fait sensation sur le plan international en inventant de nouveau le cirque: avec son ex-partenaire Sabine Rieck il a fondé un nouveau format de cirque, qui met l'homme au centre des événements et a enrichi ce genre par des expériences actuelles. Gosh faisait partie de la pointe du mouvement, connu sous le terme de « Cirque Nouveau » et qui s'est développé en France et dont font partie des productions renommées comme « Archaos », « Cirque O » et « QueCirque ». De même que Gosh, Zirkom se sent obligé de continuer cette tradition, mais souhaitait mettre de propres accents. </p> <p>La metteuse en scène Evelyne Fagnen s'est fait inciter dans la production franco-allemande « Himmel Heaven Ciel » par les mondes d'images enfantines du peintre Marc Chagall. La Française travaillait pendant beaucoup d'années comme actrice au légendaire Théâtre du Soleil sous la direction de Ariane Mnouchkine. </p> <p>Le show est accompagné par le soundtrack des rythmes modernes de tango, des instruments à cordes de rock et des sons électroniques: Le compositeur de musique de films Florian Appl, qui était lui-même membre de Gosh, a composé la musique juste pour cette pièce. Les costumes sont l'oeuvre de la styliste française Odile Hautemulle, connue par des productions internationales d'opéra, de danse, et du Cirque Nouveau comme « La Tribu Iota » du Centre National des Arts du Cirque, Châlons-en-Champagne.
